To guarantee that your chocolate indulgence is completely guilt free we have the perfect answer. Why not burn a few calories before you start ripping off choccie bar wrappers? Leaving from Horizon Yacht Charters base at True Blue, stop at the hill forts that overlook St George's, for a stunning view of this historic town. Then climb to a cool 1,900ft and the Grand Etang Forest Reserve to see the ancient crater lake surrounded by lush, green rain forest. Descend to the east coast and another 15 minutes brings you to the village of Tivoli and half a mile further you reach the Chocolate Factory.

Chocoholics, sweet tooths and travellers alike can discover Grenada’s world of chocolate at the working museum located in the 17th century plantation, Belmont Estate, rich in historical information. The tour will take you through cocoa processing including ‘cocoa walking’ and inside the cocoa fermentation plant where demonstrations and delicious chocolate tastings are held. To experience the "rich chocolatey smells" from a factory is pretty irresistible. The tour continues around the estate and includes Grenada’s only goat dairy, goat cheese tasting, a craft market and workshop and a visit to the heritage museum. Belmont Estate’s delicious Creole restaurant offers an authentic Grenadian lunch made from local ingredients mostly grown on the estate.

For the return journey you might like to head down the east coast and stop at either Mt Carmel to swim under a waterfall or take a dip in the sea followed by a refreshing drink at La Sagesse Bay - half a mile of palm fringed golden sand. An ideal taste of Grenada before you set sail through the Grenadines!
