After Arriving in Antigua

On exiting the Arrivals Hall at V.C. Bird, you will find two Taxi Dispatch Desks. From here you can request a taxi to Jolly Harbour Marina. The fare is fixed at US$30 (US$30 before 7a.m.) for up to 4 persons and 4 bags (official fare which may be subject to change without notice). Gratuity is typically between 10 and 15%. Taxis are mini-buses that tend to carry around 10 people.

The journey time between the V.C. Bird International Airport and Jolly Harbour Marina is approximately 20-30 minutes.

Taxi drivers will accept both US$ and Eastern Caribbean$ (referred to locally as EC). The rate is fixed at US$1 = EC$2.6882.

There is an ATM at the airport and at Jolly Harbour Marina.

American Airlines Miami – Antigua Schedule running from November 20, 2008

MIAMI – American Airlines, which offers more flights from South Florida than any other airline, will begin daily nonstop service from Miami to Antigua this fall – the only nonstop service currently scheduled between Miami and the eastern Caribbean island.

American will begin flying the Miami-Antigua route on Nov. 20, 2008, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft configured with 16 seats in First Class and 132 seats in the Main Cabin.

The new service from Miami complements existing flights to Antigua from San Juan, Puerto Rico, offered by American and its regional affiliate, American Eagle.

Located approximately 290 miles southeast of San Juan, Antigua is known for its sunny climate, beautiful beaches, outstanding sailing and yachting facilities, and well-preserved coral reefs that offer excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities.
